I find Burgundy one of the best destination in France.
It has lovely scenery, pretty towns, nice people, fantastic food and (in my opinion) the best wine in the world.
The greatest difficulty is really to choose where to go among all the lovely places.
This year we returned to Givry, a pretty little town 10 km west of Chalon sur Saone. One of the reasons was actually a fantastic restaurant called La Cadole (a Cadole is a small stone hut in wine fields). La Cadole is one of those places where you are happy to go to dinner several times a week, since the food is good and unfussy, and where your kids are made welcome in a natural way.
Food is simple, but excellent in grandmother style, and they serve wine from the region by the glass. Visit www.restaurantlacadole.fr
Remember to book if you want to go, the restaurant was completely full on all the evenings we visited.
